Manufacturing · ERP Migration
A precision plastics manufacturer serving aerospace and industrial clients, moving off Shoptech E2 onto ERPNext — with a purpose-built estimation engine for complex, multi-operation quotes.

At a glance
The challenge
Piper Plastics quotes complex, engineered parts where pricing depends on materials, multi-operation routing, and machine time. Shoptech E2’s estimating couldn’t model that cleanly — and the closed platform made every change a fight.
What we built
A purpose-built estimation engine on the Frappe framework — modeling PPH-based labor pricing, material markup rules, and BOM-driven cost rollup, with version control on every quote.
Approved estimates flow straight into Sales Orders and production — no re-entry, no spreadsheet hand-off — with full traceability from quote to shop floor.
Built as a standalone Frappe app that survives ERPNext upgrades — Piper can extend fields, workflows, and integrations without vendor lock-in or per-user fees.
